Under the weight of it all

"It’s getting worse

It’s getting worse"

Will be their laborious refrain

"And still you aren’t listening."

They will offer a prayer

(Spoken from God, to us, to God)

A warning and request

"It doesn’t have to be this way."

Their message, a still small flame,

Heat and light that cuts through darkness

God, cut into us now

You are embodied in every human flesh

And still, we aren’t listening.
